This is literally a remake of Triumph of the Will in contemporary film vocabulary.

It is a political rally highlights film which begins with the arrival of the headliner’s plane, then some testimonials to his greatness and exhibitions of the scale of his following. Then he speaks, which you notice is more audience than podium shots, in service of the overriding message - these ordinary people are part of something bigger, something powerful, a force of destiny, and you can be too.

But where Riefenstahl’s original was a cinematic breakthrough, this one uses techniques developed in the MTV revolution of the ‘80s that are now the basis of modern blockbusters - very fast cuts, heavy use of conspicuous filters, a score of contemporary pop on the adventurous edge of mainstream, to-the-bone editing that compresses the whole arc into a few minutes.

It is very well done and I guarantee you there is NO ONE capable of putting it together who wouldn’t know exactly what they were doing.
