Ape-Men have been reported for centuries in Eastern Africa. Natives and explorers were puzzled by the tales of these beasts. The natives told stories of these creatures known as many names (ngila, ngagi, and enge-ena); of how they were powerful enough to kill a man, how they were incredibly big and would even eat men. In 1860, an explorer named Du Chaillu wrote about these vicious monsters.

During 1902, German officer Captain Robert von Beringe managed to shoot one of these beasts and brought it back to Europe. The world now knows these Ape-Men as Gorillas.
