the TurboDuo, the hybrid TurboGrafix-16 and CD console had a mascot in the west named Johnny Turbo, who had comics made about him. They all basically had the same plot. Evil suited men claimed their console was the first CD-based console, and Johnny Turbo had to save the day by correcting them.

I appreciate they made him look exactly like the sort of person who would slam through a door, wheeze ‘ACTUALLYTHETURBODUOWASTHEFIRSTCDBASEDCONSOLE’ and fall over.
