This is interesting. Authenticity and industry and the indie identity and all that.

I know people who met Ke$ha in Silverlake back when she was just Kesha. They say she’s a genuinely intelligent singer-songwriter who writes her own stuff - hell, paid her dues writing other people’s stuff and worked her way up - it’s just that her genre is radio pop.
