Like the bisexuality, the 3D vision, the non-flatfootedness, that’s all within the normal scope of human experience. “Anxiety goes to zero” is just an attribute change that other things key off of, the disinhibition is maybe one to the extent it wasn’t a temporary and common reaction to brain disruption, but this is a whole new crazy-ass special ability

Thinking “wait, is that ‘Summer of '69’ under that AC unit hum?” Well, it is now!

Yeah, okay, we are now at

—The “Average” Side of Overweight—

A few different signs:

  • The bottom edge of the stomach has fully firmed up and the stomach is now fully encapsulated within, not upon, the torso
  • The sides have shrunk in so that the torso is rectangular in profile, and from the shoulders through the chest and through the stomach to the waist now appear as a single unbroken plane
  • I can now suck in my stomach far enough that the forwardmost part of the body is the chest

I was last this thin in fourth grade

Okay! Planted both the first two blueberry bushes (Toro and Draper), which involved digging out some sandy soil along where one of my drainage ditches is and replacing the bank itself with coconut coir, which absorbs and retains water excellently, and then lining the hole and packing in with garden compost.

it’s very clear from some communists’ visions of future city-planning that they expect disabled people to just shut up and die, lmao

  1. some disabled people need door-to-door transportation. public transportation will never work for everyone, no matter how much you emphasise that it is “accessible” to some
  2. if any part of your plan involves disabled people needing to “request” exceptions or “prove” that they are an exception or be questioned or tested or navigate any level of bureaucracy to become a Certified Exception, some people are going to be denied things they need & some of them are going to die

in my city there is absolutely car-based public transportation for the mobility impaired - obviously services like this do not have to be public, but they certainly do if you want them to be universally accessible!

Anywhere that operates a public transportation system (well, that takes US federal money for it) operates on-call door-to-door transportation systems for the disabled. If you ever see short buses or vans in your local system’s livery on the road but never at bus stops, that’s them.

GULLS WILL DECIDE WHAT TO EAT BY WATCHING PEOPLE

Herring gulls (Larus argentatus) can perfectly thrive in coastal  and urban landscapes, however, these birds will steal your food as soon as you are distracted. Urban gulls pay attention to human behaviour in food-related contexts, and will mimic what humans almost all the time, a new study shown.

In a simple test, researchers studied how herring gulls behave in front person eating snacks on Brighton beachfront, UK. They gave the gulls the choice between two differently coloured potato chips,  and when the human were eating potatos chips from one color, seagulls approached the food, and chose the same colour that the experimenter was eating, the 95 per cent of the time.

Seagulls were able to use human cues for stimulus enhancement and foraging decisions. Given the relatively recent history of urbanization in herring gulls, this cross-species social information transfer could be a by-product of the cognitive flexibility inherent in species who steal food, called kleptoparasitic species. This success in urban environments is suggested to result from behavioural flexibility, which is likely to require specific cognitive adaptations. In food-stealing birds, success is said to reflect an ability to integrate and use information about both the environment and other individuals, and kleptoparasites generally have usually larger relative brain sizes than their hosts.

People who try to moralize about classical myth are unwittingly acting as a chorus. Discussions are framed and interspersed with rueful cries of “Why is The King so capricious and manipulative? Why is The Queen so vengeful? Why did Death steal that girl away from her mother?”

“You’ve become part of the Greek chorus! You’re taking part in the mythology with your lamentations! Good luck recovering from this one bub!”

Okay went to transplant those annuals and realized it’s a thing where there’s like clusters of bulbs down there each supporting two leaves and a flower, and I took out one cluster one-by-one keeping their roots from ripping and I had like 11 reasonable-sized ones and one big one and I’m like okay what the hell do I do with this.

And I realize my trying to save these specific flowers is maybe old personality hoarder instinct and I can just get whatever plants I want at the nursery after I get the yard redone.

So fuck it, gonna scrap them. Also retrieved some wood from Strawberry Ridge that was too thick buried too shallow and cut it up for the side fill of Blueberry Hill.

So tomorrow planting the first blueberries, got some coconut coir to mix with compost for water retention in one site.

You FOOL those are free plants!

Also, if your ‘annuals’ are pupping those are perennials, fyi

Duly noted on the terminology, but it’s kind of realizing that if the “plants” as I knew them were really like 8 bulbs grown around each other then reinstalling them one-by-one individually OR manually rearranged to iffily replicate the cluster probably isn’t going to replicate the “fan of leaves from one point” feel I thought of as “the plant”, so if I’m not even carrying over “the plants I had here” it’s even less vital?

Like, I have some of those types of perennials out front already too, but if we’re talking backyard, where the audience is me and my guests, I wouldn’t choose those species to start with, which is what I’d really be doing here

had a dream (more like a prophetic vision) that there was a terminally ill youtuber who recorded a few months of content ahead of time to release after they died where they would occasionally casually reference the fact that they are dead, including a video talking about their actual real death complete with pictures. whole thing is kept cool and casual, no mourning or sadness just the usual “hey guys! guess who died today 🤪” stuff.

they managed to get early copies of some upcoming video games so they could post timely reviews and everything, still keeping up the whole “actually died recently” bit. they were still just like normal ass reviews, sometimes they’d drop a “wow this game is so bad I’m glad I died three weeks ago” or some similar joke.

the channel became super popular after he died and “deadtubing” became a trend but there was a huge scandal when one of the most popular deadtubers was revealed as actually being alive.

#yeah this is going to be real in like max 5 years

Oh, no, that 10th case was definitely real (if of origin only presumed to be a new externally introduced infection), and it’s still churning through the echo symptoms – had dumbly fingers yesterday, now I’m getting the kind of lateral instability I know comes from errors accumulating along the “brain decides where to place foot, leg muscles place it there” chain – but all really weak and trivial.
