In what is the most stereotypical Vibecamp thing ever, one of the very first people I chatted up turned out to be a psychedelic therapy researcher, and one of the various bits of info he conveyed to me was that LSD is not considered at all useful for psychedelic therapy, because “it doesn’t take”, i.e. the effects are not permanent enough to be therapeutically useful. He said that this has been fairly solidly confirmed by VA researchers, who do not fuck around with hippie bullshit and actually approach this subject with a high degree of rigor, so I found it hilarious that the stereotype of “guy who has a lifechanging explosion of loving kindness on high doses of LSD, and then immediately goes back to getting pissed at people in traffic and voting straight-ticket Republican” has now been Confirmed by Science.

Okay, today was rained in a while but outside of that did most of the last half-yard of mulch, some more ditch digging, and before it knocked out a petty fetch quest that had been on my to-do list for a while and arranged for a landscaper to come by tomorrow to talk over regrading my lower backyard.

So the American ATF finally made moves to rein in “pistol braces” that rendered effectively short-barreled shoulderable carbine rifles legal and freely accessible, but the situation where effectively sawn-off shotguns are legal if originally manufactured as non-shouldered and thus not regulatorily shotgun “firearms” still stands, and you’ve got more serious industry players moving into the space there.

One thing about Portland streets being so full of independent small businesses is when a situation shifts and a long-established business suddenly meets headwinds it is far more likely to burn down than an outpost of a faceless national chain :(

Honestly alternate history where they bring back tobacco.

Subsequently, tobacco shops are signified with wooden statues of Vikings standing outside.

I suppose they could grow it in France

Even the parts in Europe!
