I’ve been working out for a while but I just started drinking creatine. I’m on my second day and I’m doing one scoop a day. I’ll let you know how it goes. Hopefully I’ll put on some meat in a couple months. -🐄
I want to make clear creatine is not something that makes exercise more rewarding in terms of muscle built from a given workout. Testosterone like I’m experiencing does that, as do the anabolic steroids that emulate it.
Creatine’s use in a strength-building context is in allowing you to do more exercise – that weight you struggle to lift, or number of reps you poop out short of, you can get with supplementary creatine helping deliver more energy to your muscles than the body’s aerobic energy production and anaerobic generation from naturally produced creatine alone.
And more exercise builds muscle faster than less.
My current creatine use is not for muscle-building purposes and my current muscle-building frenzy is not caused by it, they each relate to different Long Covid symptoms that I got in the luckiest possible combination.
That said, creatine can absolutely be a productive part of a muscle-building exercise program – that’s why I had some sitting around to begin with – and there is tons of bro science out there on the internet that can explain how.
Okay my motive muscles are still good to go but I can feel instability in my step, my hips swaying, that tell me the helper muscles need a rest too.
Reminder that the brain damage that left me sexually interested in men also made me sashay my hips and made my wrists limp.

Hanging out shirtless in a chair and appreciating how much burlier my chest is than like, four days ago.
Been bingin’ some 90s movies/shows like everyone else and every once in a while you go “Oh hey I remember that 90’s misogyny, oh how nostalgic, that’s not how misogyny is done anymore.”
Trying to pick out what makes this misogyny unique and it’s hard, part of it and arguably all of it is “Still the same generally, you can’t really say this shit on mass-market entertainment anymore” and the only shift is in format to dashcam videos and twitter posts but it feels like there’s more to it. Got some theories I’ve been throwing around
Women as “bloodsuckers” is a big part of this and one thing comes to mind is that this is about the upwardly mobile white man who believes he is having his attempt to change class being thwarted by the ex-wife, and this story is less relatable now due to changes in the economy.
There’s another story about sexual liberation and the decline of sex that’s harder to describe, about how feminism + free love means that women would be more available for labor + sex, and men could feel cheated that this didn’t happen the way they wanted. Now men can still be angry about this but are not surprised by it in the same way.
