in my history of comics class for the webcomics unit i sat there thinking please can we not bring up homestuck. so everybody in this class can continue believing that i am a normal human being. but somebody DID bring it up. and then i was like. fine. i wont say anything. ill continue being normal. but when the class discussion boiled down to “this comic is influential but none of us know anything about it so we cant say anything meaningful” i was like fine. fine. takes the deepest swig imaginable from my flash and unmutes my mic. i hear youre all in need of an expert

Some freezing rain expected soon, so guess it’s a good thing I trimmed all those trees down below design weight with a minimum of branches to get iced (and that the neighbors’ tree already fell into my yard two years ago)
And christ, the wind is nuts; there’s def. going to be some branches coming down around town when they start to ice up. Well, in case the power goes out good thing I’ve got a bunch of good blankets.
Appreciating all I’ve got done with yard work this year but then realizing all the stuff I didn’t get to (like establishing lavender underneath the window I sit next to), but then realizing I’m probably going to live here for the rest of my life and I’ll have other seasons
(but I should prioritize getting the trees in – I’m going with a Japanese flowering theme, ume, sakura, and kaki – they’ll need years to grow and bear fruit)

Yeah, I can only assume this “echo” finally got to parts of my brain the original didn’t, all the effects are in the same thematic areas as the first case – sexuality, self-conception both as a self and a body moving through space – but different, I can only imagine that stuff’s dealt with in some geographical region of the brain where the frontier is getting pushed outward a bit
Perhaps some of that ravenousness yesterday was protein-hunger; on Monday I did some leaf gathering that involved dragging the compost bin behind me for a while, and it didn’t even feel that significant but last night I noticed how stiff my upper back was and worked it digging in with my self-massager stick, and today I’m noticing my traps and deltoids are swollen firm with growth
I live in Portland, ME and visited Cascadia for the first time recently (October). Stayed in Portland, visited Seattle, Mt. Hood, and some tiny camping places in Oregon.
Seattle feels more similar to Portland, ME then Boston (the only other larger city I have spent much time in) does but I like Portland, OR better. That might be because I'm a cycle commuting enthusiast. I found the public transport to be very good and more middle class people ride it as opposed to Portland, ME which is ridden mostly by students and destitute.
The Pacific ocean smells different.
The woods are familiar but the trees are different (except the good ol' Douglas fir, one of my favorite trees). The mountains are much higher. The average terrain is rougher but the valleys between the mountainous areas are larger and flatter.
The people are friendlier than Boston.
I liked it! A great place. I could see myself living there someday.
Okay nothing I can tell off about my thought process, but I’m moving like my center of balance is at my shoulder line and I just have to make sure I stretch the parts underneath into some kinda contact with the ground
Haha okay, just had a sort of waking dream that my husband had taken to wearing socks with treads around the pool, and I was fascinated with how this was like the exact opposite of flip-flops as pool-appropriate footwear.
I don’t have a husband or a pool, obviously. I suppose that’s at least a novel appearance of grippy socks in someone’s mental breakdown, though.
