So how did the Cold War security state react to domestic corporate espionage? Like, there’d be actual agents attached to Boeing projects to keep the Russians from knowing what they were doing, how did they deal with Lockheed trying to look into it?

For the most part everybody used (and uses) the same technology; the relevant advantages were in facilities and competent staff, which you can’t really steal. The only company-confidential data that might be useful would be costs for labor and materials. (and the only time anyone stole that stuff in recent history led to Lockheed and Boeing both losing their rocket-booster divisions, those being divested and combined into ULA.)

Also I was maybe 240 tops in my life, and I’d be surprised if I was past 225 when the personality change happened and I started to lose (I’ve been gaining muscle too, and last time that combined with fat loss back at the dojo I actually got heavier as I got more trim)

I was Lt. Columbo for some thing in 5th grade where we all came in in the evening to put on little skits for parents about various curricular stuff. I finally bought myself a bread lame. (pronounced “lahm”, like “llama” without the final “a”.) Until now I’d just been scoring bread with a loose razor blade held in my fingers, which is suboptimal.

And it came with instructions for how to load it, which are titled “Lame Instructions”. And my brain keeps going “can’t I have the cool instructions instead?”
