Huh, surprised there’s no yoga studios in this gentrifying neighborhood yet. I could stand exercises to develop balance and community of 20something girls stretching in tight pants right now

SSRIs work by giving us serotonin. Serotonin is the drug used to kill people who have been bitten by vampire bats.

Moodiness…for…vampire slaying…

this bad boy can fit so much vampire slaying in it

lizardgoats:

“Twin Peaks’s plot is sparked by the murdered body of seventeen-year-old Laura Palmer, washed up on the bank of a river. Palmer’s corpse is Twin Peaks’s truly memorable image: river-wet hair slicked around her perfect porcelain face, blue with death but still tranquil, lovely. One question, “Who killed Laura Palmer?” spawned a genre—Veronica Mars, The Killing, Pretty Little Liars, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Night Of are truly notable descendants of Twin Peaks. All Dead Girl Shows begin with the discovery of the murdered body of a young woman. The lead characters of the series are attempting to solve the (often impossibly complicated) mystery of who killed her. As such, the Dead Girl is not a “character” in the show, but rather, the memory of her is.”

Ugh, drained from the sledgehammering the bed was so comfy I only got out once I was at 12hr and starting to strain my back

A thing is the new mattress is so wonderfully supportive strain doesn’t build up in the synovial fluid between my bones, so when I go to stretch my idled muscles by twisting there’s no prize at the bottom of the box in terms of cracking my spine

I like that I can tell that building new muscle takes energy, of the type you get aerobically from blood sugar or anaerobically from fat, because as the day’s (anaerobic-enabling) creatine wears off and I start to feel more drag it’s heightened on days I’ve been using muscles and in the limbs it’s noticeably weaker on the entire limb distal to the part I was working

It feels like a lot of people with ADHD don’t really experience the things that neurotypical people do – when people are around them, their thoughts and actions mostly appear to happen in a sort of dreamlike bubble, where everything is supposed to have a clear, well-defined start and end and a continuous, smooth trajectory. Even in their own heads they don’t seem to have the sort of time bubbles that normal people have – it feels to them like they’re thinking in a state of complete openness, with the present moment constantly morphing into the next. It’s like that quote about how you never know where you are because your thoughts are always moving.

Guys, it’s happening:

I am bothered that this is apparently being done by a private company on its own initiative and not under a US or other NATO military contract.

This isn’t like designing a rifle. Just developing this stuff is serious business.

My take is that this is an audition tape for a US military contract. Unsolicited, yeah, but they’re using VC money to build a capability that they believe will be ordered very soon. Rational! Long-term prisoner’s-dilemma winning? No.

Really not looking forward to explaining what Kessler Syndrome is and why “magnets” won’t fix it to a bunch of people in the near future.

You would have to clear it like a moon clearing its orbit with gravity, but how would you get that much mass up there? You’d have to start with one small enough to loft and start accreting smaller debris…

Oh my God, you’d have to…
