Have been feeling weirdly limited with my back but then I remembered, oh, the 8th case effect where things stay fatigued for a while, that echoed back too, that one was so marginal I forgot about it.
cannot truly describe the feeling that just came over me upon seeing this but the best estimation is a simultaneous need to laugh hysterically and also fucking die
There’s some clothes that used to fit but it was because the belly was taking up slack intended for that chest and when I developed that didn’t, that now do again.
Trying to work out an overlap between Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999) and Over the River and Through the Woods, so I can set up a “nana visitor” joke
What if a development company wants to build an amusement park next door? The roller coasters themselves will make significant noise, and also you will hear the screams of the damned during operating hours.
Based
I already live next door to a preschool I don’t see how it could be any different
Less biohazardous than the preschool
But seriously with a land value tax I don’t think you get roller coasters built very centrally. They’re not that profitable per area, are they?
There are some that are built in cities, perhaps not in the deepest parts, but ones like Luna Park in Sydney, or Linnanmaki in Helsinki, or Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park (within the LA metropolitan area).
But that’s a dodge, either way. “They won’t build it next to where I want to live!” But suppose that they did! Well, you did answer “Based” already, so I guess I only shave off a fraction of a point for the posthumous dodge.
Oh no I have to live next to sickass roller coasters. How much is the season pass?
Probably a lot, if you live in a city! Or not much, if you don’t!
The issue with being next to an amusement park isn’t the noise, it’s the heavy traffic every day of visitors who aren’t familiar with the local roads at all
Like, sorry for belaboring it, but blowing my own mind once again contemplating that no, this miraculous weight loss wasn’t just given to me, it was a reward for defeating the first fatigue symptom, which presented as life-threatening incapacitation but I figured out in less than an hour of contemplation and just had a jar of the miraculous antidote sitting in my kitchen, at the limit of my mobility
Hm, I should at least listen to the Butch Vig Sonic Youth albums
This thought courtesy of listening to Siamese Dream and going “holy shit, this is thirty years old”
Butch Vig was likely the one thinking to cover Big Star in the first place. Vic Chesnutt too, maybe The Jam, though I could see that being Steve or Shirley.
Nevermind, Gish, Siamese Dream, the Garbage stuff, 2 Sonic Youth albums, 1 L7 and, uh, House of Pain’s “Shamrocks and Shenanigans”, the mid-90s substantially sounded like Butch Vig’s production. His use of massively multitracked overdubbing really bears comparisons to Phil Spector’s “Wall of Sound”.
He’s mentioned that House of Pain was basically the label saying “you’re the Nevermind guy!” and offering enough money for what made no sense as an artistic decision

You know, I suspect Billy Corgan has a later-life return to relevance in him
It won’t be off the Chicago independent wrestling stuff, though that’ll be taken as an honorable thing to have been doing, it’ll be something that lets people say “that bald little 90s freak’s still got it”
If there’s ever a rock & roll revival, I could see him in on that
