I suppose one cause of all the aerobic energy issues could be that something in the chain is limiting the amount of oxygen to make it into my bloodstream to react with blood sugar in the first place. Early in the plague when we had waves of death in Boston and NYC you heard about effects on the alveolar tissue. In trying to figure things out I got a sphygmomanometer and blood sugar testing strips but nothing to measure oxygenation, though.
But I mean you can’t just take enough creatine you completely sideline aerobic and don’t need to breathe, can you? Can pearl divers use it for more endurance?

Taylor Lorenz pivoting to Covid hawkery in a ridiculous Taylor Lorenz fashion seems more likely to set up her haters to link that to everything else she represents in getting it all read out of the media mainstream than advance any of her own interests, but girl can’t help herself.
And it’s like she’s on a mission. “Insisting that people never breathe the same air again is just a natural extension of harm sensitivity norms in queer communities! You should apply your feelings re: one to the other!”
I will say though that yeah, maybe what we’re seeing now suggests that queer community norms around AIDS reflected that its harms were primarily to the small, embattled, and strongly distinct queer community itself, if having unprotected gay sex killed off random elderly people in 1987 you’d probably have seen bareback circuit parties for the purpose
Which I suppose raises the question: by “the pandemic isn’t over!” standards, are we still in the AIDS pandemic? There’s no cure or vaccine, you can still get it, still die of it, and that and other burdens are disproportionately borne by poor disempowered minorities…
At the same time, my county health department is putting up billboards like

God, how much of ‘80s pop was just “and now… The British Queers!”
I used to nod in agreement about how rave was just derived from gay clubs, Paradise Garage and all that, but god, it’s like getting your prostate slammed gives you +5 Synthesizer
This was the context of Trent Reznor calling himself a “synth faggot” in 1994
The “the only Good Music is angsty stripped-down guitar rock” crowd lost so hard no one even remembers them for kicking dirt on.
it held on for a while—the German Invasion (Rammstein, KMFDM, Eisenfunk) as the columbinecore alternative (and pop punk from MCR to NOFX as the “we should consider accepting homosexuality” alternative) to a radio rock landscape from Christian (Creed) to rap (Linkin Park) now old enough to be reformulated as a foreign-relations export product (The Hu ft. Papa Roach!)—but died w the Bush era when America repolarized its music as Rap vs. Country as in pop (Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye) vs. connecticut ( Mumford & Sons “”“"stomp clap hey”“”“ to im-actually-thinking-about-going-to-grad-school-for-ethnomusicology?core like Thinking Fellers Union Local Whatever)
what even are the poles now? mitski vs. ashnikko? indie-sadgirl convergence vs party pop-emo? like we are going to have to critically rehabilitate kesha and lmfao if not brokencyde. insane clown posse as well now that anyone on the coasts has heard of them
should’ve held on for longer. though ofc the real disaster for popular music of any kind was the early 2000′s style of (over)production. in electronic music the real disaster came way earlier with the introduction of the 808 and especially the 909 and the advent of music as sth people dance to while zoinked out on drugs
This is like the grown-up version of those “this complete breakfast” from cereal ads
Every time I write “complete b” AutoCorrect primarily suggests “breakdown”, which was actually one of my favorite tossed-off Veronicaisms from my Veronica Mars spec (“Part of this complete breakdown!” Also, “I suffer from a congenital lack of ruth.”), but I’ve at most opened it as a PDF on this phone, I don’t know if it’s picking that up from this Apple ID on the laptop or just wordplay more obvious than the original.
My chest, at least, is now fairly broad and solid under a padding of fat like a pre-80s male lead, even my for feeling fat shirts are fairly tight now and I was like christ, has it really grown that much? but I guess all the maul swinging was building my back too in a way that doesn’t show up as much in the mirror or to my touch.
The tight fit is different though, you feel it in different areas and some of it is like “wait, I actually don’t mind if it plasters tight to that part for display”

Huh as the stomach fat continues to retreat I’m noticing a band not equivalent to the old “bottom roll of fat” but maybe coincident with the bottom 2/3 of it that’s not receding as fast as the rest, this might be the “spare tire” I’m left with as the more barrel-abdominal stuff ends.

Situation where I managed to give myself a blood blister on the very tip of my thumb and slice it with a knife turning interesting: the slice ran through the blister, which has now fallen off, leaving intact pink skin underneath with the gash continuing on either side.

Ugh, I need all the leaves to come in around the house before the sun starts getting it too hot.
It’s funny, my roof really isn’t suited for solar panels because I have a 100% organic passive climate control system up there that self-optimizingly builds itself by using solar power to extract carbon from the atmosphere.
In a brunch place in a neighborhood right by mine that’s the first one they laid out for cars, all non-super “markets” and random sub-collector intersections with shops and bars and doctors’ offices on the corner, and there is a slightly-shaded from full sun thing going on that really favors houses built in the Truman administration
You can precisely date the neighborhood from how the plots right off the collector streets don’t have sidewalks because they were built when it was unincorporated county land but then it was incorporated in and they were required so the further ones do.
