you: so what do you do to deal with your anxiety me: when i have no other option, i make up a fake person who coincidentally has the same name as me, but also doesn't suffer from anxiety (and my other various issues), pretend to be them, and just chug through till it's over you: that doesn't sound like it's a real long term solution me: yeah but it turns out i'm a pretty great actor
The upper PF bumper zone gives more points than the lower without enough risk to compensate (it’s an open field game - no modes and multiball has a score multiplier rather than jackpots) but compared to that era it’s pretty solid.
I hung out backstage with MST3K and other alumni the other day and it was actually fucking excruciating bcuz until our mutual friend from different spheres came back we had nothing in common and we all instinctually responded by trying to entertain the rest.
Professions I find attractive:
- Enlightened dictator
- Guitarist
- Scientist working on problems that aren’t so difficult that we can’t casually discuss them sometimes, astronomers researching exoplanets most preferred (social sciences acceptable assuming the research is empirically grounded)
- Screenwriter
- Mountaineer
- Saver or destroyer of humanity (those are callings, not professions, but I’m including them anyway)
- Military strategist
- Philosopher of questions I find interesting
But the Philippines, fuck. Didn’t work as a production center, too late to work as a trade gateway or forward base into Asia, full of ungrateful natives who were somehow fucking papists so you couldn’t even evangelize them, we had to assemble the rest of our Pacific empire just to make them remotely defensible and even then the one time we get in a war with the only possible country who would care about them they get taken over like, immediately.
